Alberto Medina, from the country's tax authority, informed they are working in the new process, which could be available August 17.

"According to the officer, the two forms required for the procedures were reduced to a single, 5 requisite form", published Prensalibre.com.

Accesos Holográficos is Awarded Single Vehicle Registration Tender

The Panamanian Transit Authority has awarded the Mexican company the design and implementation of an electronic solution for Single Vehicle Registration (RFID).

With a bid of $15.2 million Accesos Holográficos S.A. was the only company to submit an offer and participate in the bidding.

Guatemala: Number of Vehicles Doubles

Over the past five years, the number of vehicles in Guatemala has doubled, reaching 1.970.974 in May.

Data from SAT, the Tax Authority, shows that there were 1.080.068 vehicles in the country back in December 2005.

“The motorcycles sub-segment experienced the highest growth, from 167.643 units in 2005 to 535.342 in May 2010, while the number of automobiles has grown from 334.429 to 515.605 in the same period”, reported Elperiodico.com.gt.

14% More Vehicles each Year in Guatemala

Despite the drop in exports in the last months, the number of vehicles recorded an increase of 70% in the past 5 years.

According to data from the Vehicle Registration section of the Tax Authority (SAT), there were 1.8 million cars in the country by June 30.

"... during the first semester of the year, 9.510 cars were sold, while in the same period of 2008 15.686 vehicles were purchased.
