Universities Expanding in Costa Rica

The Universidad Latina and Universidad de Ciencias Médicas have announced investments of $ 20 million in the expansion of their facilities.

With an investment of $12 million, the Universidad Latina, will construct a building in Lourdes de Montes de Oca. In the new 10,000 square meter building on four levels there will be a simulation hospital area.


"As for the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas, the rector, Pablo Guzman, said the institution will invest $10 million in the construction and equipping of a seven-story building near its headquarters in Sabana Oeste, San Jose.

The building will be used for parking, classrooms, research centers, laboratories, a canteen, and especially the extension of the simulation hospital area", reported Nacion.com.

The start of construction is planned for early 2012 and it is expected to be completed by the end of that year.

Honduras: $20 million on New Campus

The Karim's group is to build the first phase of a new campus for Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (Unitec), in an area adjacent to the towers of Altia Business Park in San Pedro Sula.

The first phase consists of five four-story buildings, an outdoor sports facilities, auditorium for 400 people, a recreation center and parking area for 640 cars, and is projected to be ready by the end of 2013.

Costa Rica Tenders University Building for $4 million

The University of Costa Rica is putting out to tender the construction of a building for continuing education.

The work consists of constructing a three story building with an approximate area of 2985 m2, which will include a general hall, 12 classrooms of two different types, an auditorium for 104 people, two computer labs, an administrative area, a dining room with kitchen, rest rooms, emergency stairs, and service areas.
