United Kingdom Eases Admission for Latin America Travelers

Central American citizens who have traveled to the United Kingdom four times in the last 24 months will have access to fast-track windows at airports and other British border controls.

An article by BBC World reports that this system facilitates immigration procedures for 16 countries, of which 12 are in Latin America, "... using the "Registered Traveler" scheme, which allows frequent visitors to pay £70 (about US $85) a year to avoid having to fill out a landing card and to access the windows for passengers from the UK and EU. "This method did not previously include citizens from any Latin American country.

The current measure is to facilitate trade and receiving visitors to the UK.  The Interior Minister, Amber Rudd, said "...Last year visitors to the new countries from the list spent about £1 billion (about US $1.23 billion) and trade relations are worth billions more to the UK's economy".

Honduras and the United Arab Emirates Eliminate Visas

As of May 25th, Honduran citizens will be able to travel to the Arab country for tourism or business purposes for up to 90 days without requiring a visa.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Honduras:

United Arab Emirates. Starting from May 25, an agreement will enter force that will allow Hondurans traveling to the United Arab Emirates to enter that country without the need for a visa. The migratory benefit applies to Hondurans holding diplomatic, official, special and ordinary passports. The agreement also establishes that in the same way citizens of that Middle East country wishing to travel to Honduras will be exempt from the visa requirement. 

Guatemala: Multisectoral Trade Mission to Caribbean

Exporters from the sectors related to food, crafts, plastics, cosmetics and others will be taking a business trip to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic from 17 to 22 November.

Business Between Nicaragua and Germany

April 2014

A new trade mission to Germany involving local companies is being coordinated by the German-Nicaraguan Business Club and in September companies from the European country will arrive in Nicaragua.

The German government's initiative intends to further strengthen business and trade relations between the two countries. In 2013 Germany was the fourth largest international purchaser of Nicaraguan products.
