Union of Business Associations in El Salvador

The Commission of Inter-Union Trade Facilitation will unify efforts to modernize public administration and facilitate its members efforts with the government.

From a press release issued by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of El Salvador (Camarasal):

Business associations in El Salvador have signed an agreement to create the Commission of Inter-Union Trade Facilitation (CIFACIL), replacing the Inter-Union Commission for Modernisation of Customs (CIMA) and aims to "unite their efforts to modernize public administration and facilitate the efforts of firms with the government bodies", according to the statement made by the presidents of the various guilds.

The agreement was signed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of El Salvador (CCIES), the Corporation of Exporters of El Salvador (Coexport), the Chamber of Agriculture and Agro-Industry of El Salvador (Camagro) Distributors Association of El Salvador (ADES ), the American Association of Commerce of El Salvador (AmCham), the Chamber of the Textile and Apparel Industry of El Salvador (Camtex) and the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI), the union which will have the presidency and executive management of CIFACIL for the first two years in office.

Trade Facilitation Committee Reactivated

After two years of non-operation, El Salvador's government and business associations agreed to reactivate the institution dedicated to decision-making on customs matters and trade agreements.

The private sector was represented by the Presidents and Executive Directors of the guilds ASI, COEXPORT, CAMARASAL, CAMAGRO, AMCHAM, CAMTEX and ADES, which are part of the Inter-union Commission for Trade Facilitation (CIFACIL) and participate with voice and vote within the Committee, informed the Salvadoran government.

Regional Meeting of American Chambers of Commerce

From June 4 to 7 Managua will be hosting a meeting of AMCHAM, the American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The American Chamber of Commerce of Nicaragua (AmCham) announced that Nicaragua will be hosting an important meeting in which 24 American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA) will be taking part. The meeting, called "Business Future of the Americas", will bring together about 400 entrepreneurs from all over Latin America, and will be held from 4 to 7 June in the capital of Nicaragua, Managua. 

Honduran and Salvadoran Business Leaders Meet

The Salvadorian National Association of Private Companies received its Honduran counterpart, Cohep, to analyze the commercial situation.

The Honduran Private Business Council (Cohep, acronym in Spanish) will provide a presentation about the situation that Honduras is going through and the impact it is having on the business sector with losses in the millions.

Congress of Chambers of Commerce to be held in Honduras

Tegucigalpa will host more than 35 presidents from the Latin Chambers of Commerce (Camacol) as they take part in an Economic Congress from August 6 to 9.

The representative for the Tegucigalpa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIT), Ines de Zablah, rated the event as historic because the Honduras capital was chosen to prepare for the Thirtieth Hemispheric Congress to be held early next year in Miami, USA.
