Two Offers for Panamanian Power Plant

Hyundai Heavy Industries and Doosan Acciona submitted their bids for building a thermal power plant for the Panama Canal Authority.

Hyundai Heavy Industries bid $ 110 million, while Acciona Doosan proposed $ 121.1 million. The baseline of the bid was $ 110 million.

Panama: License for 110 MW Thermal Plant

A provisional license has been granted to Aggreko International Projects Limited to build and operate a thermal power generation plant based on diesel, bunker C and natural gas.

From the order issued by the Authority of Public Services:

"... RESOLVED:

FIRST: AWARD to AGGREKO INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS LIMITED, registered in the Public Registry on Document 1493288, Folio 1513, a provisional license for the construction and operation of a thermal power generation plant based on Diesel, Bunker C and Natural Gas called AGGREKO CERRO AZUL 3 to be located in the village of Pacora, Panama District, Panama Province, with an installed capacity of 110 MW. "

AES Corporation Wins Tender for 350MW

The bidders chosen by Empresa de Transmisión de Energía Eléctrica (Etesa) will have a period of 30 months to build plants and start generating and supplying electricity from March 2018.

Panama to Tender 700 MW of Thermal Energy

The Energy Department has announced that it will put out to tender in two sessions in February and May 2015, each for 350 MW, supply contracts for 10 and 15 years respectively.
