Transport airlines grow

The domestic market in Panama grew in 2008 by 5%, and is estimated to continue growing in 2009, despite the crisis.

Air Panama to Fly to Roatan

The airline has announced that starting from December 2016 it will be operating two direct weekly flights between Panama City and Roatan Island.

The flights will depart from Panama City during the peak season in 2016-2017 on Thursdays and Sundays, and tickets will be available for sale from November 1st.

Aero Republica Operating Under Copa Colombia

Copa Holdings announced that effective today, the Colombian airline Aero will operate under the name Copa Airlines Colombia.

Copa Airlines Orders Two New Planes

The company ordered two Boeing 737-800 planes, increasing to 15 its orders in 2009.

The planes will be delivered in the second half of 2010.

Their previous order was in July 2009, when Copa requested 13 airplanes.

"These planes will feature the 'Sky Interior' inner decoration, consisting of sculpted windows and walls, which make passengers feel more connected with the experience of flying", reported Laestrella.com.pa.

Canada and Panama reach "open skies" accord

The Canadian government has announced an agreement with Panama to open its air space to airlines from both countries.

The accord will allow Canadian and Panamanian airlines to serve any point within the territory of the other country with more flexibility in pricing and more certainty with respect to operations.
