Tourism drops in Costa Rica
The accumulated figure for the last 12 months ended October show that the country received 10,000 less tourists compared to the figure for 12 accumulated months ended in August.

The accumulated number of visitors between November 2007 and October 2008 was 2,107,000 while between September 2007 and August of this year the accumulated figure was 2,117,000.
Costa Rica is going through the consequences of the international crisis in its main industry, tourism, being that it received 83 thousand less visitors than during same period in 2008.
1,124,000 tourists visited Costa Rica in the first six months of the year, 9.6% more than the same period of 2009.
In the first four months of 2010, the country’s airports received 52.000 more tourists than in the same period of 2009.
In Costa Rica the current methods for keeping records about the number of tourist arrivals are inefficient, with differences in numbers of up to half a million.
