Toshiba Looking for Technical Service Centers in Honduras

Toshiba is on the look for new notebook reparation centers, in order to expand its Authorized Centers network.

These new centers must be located in Cortés, Francisco Morazán, Atlántida, Comayagua, Santa Bárbara and Yoro.

Nicaragua: Service Sector Trade Mission to Spain

Between November 24th and 28th a group of companies engaged in outsourcing services will be visiting Spain to explore business opportunities with companies in the country.

From a statement issued by the Nicaraguan export promotion agency (PRO-NICARAGUA)

The export promotion agency of Nicaragua, PRONicaragua, will be visiting Barcelona and Madrid from 24 to 28 November to meet with Spanish companies in the outsourcing services industry who are interested in exploring business opportunities in the country. The business mission will also host two forums in Barcelona on 25 and 26 November, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona.

Costa Rica's Service Sector Loses Momentum

Growth in this economic sector, which differentiated Costa Rica from other Central American countries, has lost the rhythm it held in previous years.

Details from the monthly index of economic activity (MIEA), which is calculated monthly by the Central Bank of Costa Rica, reveals that financial intermediation and insurance, which grew at a rate of 9% in early 2012, is now doing so at 6%: As for the business services sector, it is currently growing at 6% a year, while in 2011 it increased at a rate of 13%.

Panama: Contact Center Calls Down 15%

In November contact centers received 15% less calls than the same period of 2008.

Affected companies blame the economic crisis and the lack of qualified bilingual personnel.

Prensa.com reports: "According to some operators, the financial crisis has taken such a toll on Panamanian call centers that they had to realign their strategies: some looked for new market niches, other chose to diversify their client portfolio, trim technological and infrastructure expenses and lay off personnel".

An Incipient Services Industry in Honduras

Companies from the United States are investigating the availability of bi-lingual personnel, which would enable the installation of customer service call centers.

Similar to other countries in the region, Honduras has a U.S. compatible time zone and a close geographic location.
