Third dry excavation of the Panama Canal put to tender
Meco S.A., a Costa Rica company with 12 years of operations in Panama, presented the the best proposal, beating CUSA.

In total, six companies participated in the bidding carried out at the Ascanio Arosemena where Meco offered 36,659,852 million dollars, close to $2 million higher than the bid by Constructora Urbana (CUSA), which is currently carrying out the first dry excavation contract.
Construction company Meco was awarded the contract for the fourth phase of dry excavation, at the Pacific waterway.
Such is the amount proposed by the lowest-priced bid, by consortium Fomento de Construcciones y Contrata (FCC), Mexico's ICA and MECO.
Costa Rican consortium, Meco construction company, won the third dry excavation contract for the Panama Canal expansion project.
Construction company CUSA was awarded the construction of the highway between David and Boquete, and Meco won the contract to build the link between La Villa and Las Tablas.
