Tender: International Tourist Promotion

The Honduran Tourism Institute is inviting bids for the creation of a strategy to promote tourism in the country, geared towards the domestic and international market.

Honduras Government Purchase National Public Competition No.IHT-001-2016:

The proposal has to improve the Honduras' position as a tourist destination in order to encourage an influx of tourists generating foreign exchange and improving the distribution of income in the communities that are visited and, through effective strategic communication and with the objective of carrying out creative and innovative promotion, enable existing markets to be penetrated and new markets to be captured, improving the country's image, recruitment and familiarization of this destination internationally.

The promotion strategy should be developed in order to position the country in the following markets:

1.1 Region Central America: Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua
1.2 South American Region: Colombia, Brazil and Peru
1.2 Honduras
1.3 North America: United States and Canada
1.4 Europe: England, Germany, Spain and Italy
1.5 Any other area that may represent possible tourist potential for Honduras. "

The deadline for receipt of bids is January 21, 2016.

New campaign launched to promote Honduras as a tourist destination

April 2008

The Honduras Tourism Ministry today launched a new campaign with its "country brand" to promote its tourist attractions internationally.

The new campaign will cost 1.265 million dollars. Of this 750,000 will be spent in the United States, said Tourism Minister Ricardo Martínez. Another 250,000 dollars will be spent on promotions in Central America, and the rest will promote domestic tourism in Honduras.
