Tender For Vehicle Number Plates

The Executive Directorate of Revenue is preparing the launch of a tender in Honduras for 500,000 number plates for motorcycles and cars.

The Revenue Office (DEI by its initials in Spanish) is working on the terms of the competition to be held internationally, which could be ready in one to three weeks. On this time frame the new batch of plates should be ready between July and August.

"This is an international competitive tender, because the plates are made in Panama or in Canada," said Mario Alberto Lopez, director of the DEI.

"Then comes the tender, which takes 40 days to receive the proposals stating interest and then we will award". From that point, the plates could arrive within a period of from two to six months.

Tender for 400,000 Licence Plates

The Revenue Office of Honduras has began the process of acquiring more than 400,000 licence plates for private vehicles and motorcycles at a cost of up to $1.8 million.

According to Alejandrina Rodriguez, administrative manager of the Executive Directorate of Revenue (DEI), the tender states that the earliest delivery of all the plates must be 60 calendar days from the signing of the contract, with the ability to deliver in two installments, one at 30 days and one at 60 days.
