Sony opens office in Guatemala

Sony Inter-American (SIA) has decided to open an office in the country due to the development of the electronics sector in the Guatemalan market.

During an interview with the Prensa Libre daily, Richard Fairest, president of SIA, talked about the reasons for opening offices in the country and about their plans for the future.

Why open an office in Guatemala?
Even though we already have a main office in Panama and one in Costa Rica, we decided to open representation offices in Guatemala, which is an important market.

Sony Inter-American expands in Latin America

The company will open its own offices in Paraguay, Guatemala and El Salvador as a part of its strategy for growth and consolidation in Latin America.

With the opening of the new offices, Sony Inter-American hopes to directly attend to the market in the three countries where sale of Sony electronic products is on the rise.

Richard Fairest, President of Sony Inter-American, informed Elsalvador.com: "Our investment includes the opening of an office, whose main role will be 'to offer the visibility and improved efficiency necessary to assist our strategic partners - that are not only stores, but also service workshops - and the Salvadorian consumer.'

Sony Invests $1 Million in Costa Rica

The technology company opened its 43rd Sony Style store in Latin America, located in shopping mall Multiplaza Escazú.

Although Sony sales in Costa Rica dropped 10%, its president, Richard Fairest, is confident on changing this situation.

He told Nacion.com: "We invest long-term. We believe that 2010 will be a good year for Costa Rica".

Costa Rica: French Language Center Grows

Alianza Francesa will inaugurate on August 2009, its new facility in Heredia, with capacity for 200 students.

Being that the facility is located close to industrial areas, the language teaching company will focus on corporate clients.

In an article in Elfinancierocr.com, the sub director of Alianza Francesa, Nathalie Le Coutour, states: "There is a lot of potential in the province [Heredia], no only for teaching the French language, but also because the population is eager for cultural activities. We want to export a small piece of France to Heredia"
