Seven Companies Prequalified for Metro Line 3

Of nine companies participating in the prequalification process, seven were authorized by Metro de Panama to participate in the international tender to build Line 3.

From a statement issued by Metro de Panama:

Metro de Panamá informs that a total of 7 companies, out of the 9 that participated in the prequalification process, met the requirements to participate in the international public tender for the construction of Metro Line 3.

According to the official report delivered by the Evaluation Commission to Metro de Panamá S.A. and the non-objection of the JICA Japanese Agency, which is based on the Panama Purchase website starting on Monday 25 September, 7 companies will be able to participate in the tender process for the "Design engineering project, construction of civil works, auxiliary facilities for the line and stations, supply and installations of the railway system which includes rolling stock (monorail) and commissioning of the system for Line 3".

The prequalified companies are the following: 

  1.  China Railway Group Limited (CHINA RAILWAY) (not a consortium). 
  2. HP Joint Venture Consortium - Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. - POSCO. 
  3. ACPC Consortium Line 3 Acciona Construcción S.A. and Power Construction Corporation of China Limited. (CHINA POWER)
  4. Consorcio Oriental Metro Línea 3 - China Harbor Engineering Company Ltd. and Beijing Urban Construction Group Co. (CHEC)
  5. Consortium Line 3 FCC-CICSA-SKEGFCC CONSTRUCCIÓN, SA; CARSO INFRAESTRUCTURA Y CONSTRUCCIÓN, A. DE CV; SK ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD.
  6. Astaldi, S.p.A. (not a consortium)
  7. Consorcio Línea 3 Monorail Panamá Obrascon Huarte Lain, S.A. (OHL), Andrade Gutierrez Engenharia, S.A. and Mota-Engil, Engenharia e Construcao, S.A. (Panama-Mota-Engil branch).

Metro Line 3: Offers Postponed

March 2019

April 2 is the new date set for the submission of proposals for the design and construction of Line 3 of the Panama Metro, which will reach Ciudad del Futuro in Arraijan.

October 10, 2018. A visit to the site, where the works for Metro Line 3 will be developed, began the process of Tender for Best Value with Separate Evaluation with the 7 pre-qualified companies, to build this megaproject, which will be benefiting a large population of the West Panama region.
