Russian Tour Operators Interested in Salvadoran Tourism

A group of tour operators visited the country to assess potential touristic destinations.

The Salvadoran Ministry of Tourism and private companies have initiated commercial relations with tourism companies in Russia and Ukraine. Tour operator Grayline El Salvador Avitours was the promoter of this visit.

The Tourism Minister Jose Napoleón Duarte Durán, featured in, "... part of the Russian market is in an strong economic momentum, this coupled with demand for exotic destinations, makes Central America one of the sites selected when they think about traveling. Therefore we are betting on long-range markets that will be strengthened through a new Iberia air link, starting on October 2010".

According to the official, a country brand is not enough; the country must sell as a tourist destination also.
