The report "Construction Projects in Guatemala - February 2015", prepared by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData.COM, provides a list of major construction projects which in the month of February presented environmental impact assessments (EIA) to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Guatemala (MARN).

One of the projects involves the construction of a hydroelectric dam in the municipality of Livingston, department of Izabal. The study was presented by the company Proyecto Empresarial de Recursos Ganaderos y Agrícolas S.A., which indicated that the estimated value of the project is $7.8 million.

Constructora Peten also submitted an EIS for "dredging and mitigation in the bed of the river Samala, Phase II, in Santa Cruz Muluá, Retaluhelu". The EIA reported that the estimated value of this work is $7.1 million.

In the energy sector, the company Terminales del Atlántico SA presented an EIA for the construction of a storage and distribution plant for petroleum fuels in the municipality of Colomba, Quetzaltenango department. The project is valued at $993,000, as indicated in the EIA.

Additionally, EIA's were presented for the construction of the first stage of a municipal stadium, residential projects and gas stations.
