Relaunch of Tender for Project Management at Tocumen

Tocumen SA could continue with the tender for project management of the South Terminal, after the Public Procurement Directorate archives the claim brought by CSA Group Panama.

"At the end of April CSA Group Panamá filed a claim stating that in Addendum 7, made by Tocumen to the tender specifications, the evaluation criteria was changed to qualify the experience of the participants", reported Prensa.com.

Initially it had been established that 10 points would be allocated to participants who had been hired in Panama, in the last five years, for at least 10 consulting services in the area of ​​public infrastructure for public or private entities, but with the modification, the previous text added two lines: "at least one of these contracts must be for inspection and control of works in airports."

In a letter sent to Tocumen SA, the Public Procurement Directorate (CMPD) noted that at no time the participation was limited to companies with previous experience in air terminal building in the country, but companies could include in their proposals similar projects abroad.

May 30 is the new date for the submission of proposals from companies interested in managing the project with a price tag of $22 million.

Five bids for Construction Supervision in Panama

In the tender for supervision of the construction of the South Terminal of the Airport of Tocumen five companies have submitted bids valued at around $19 million.

The Public Procurement Directorate (CMPD) took the decision after receiving a complaint lodged by the CSA Group Panama, Inc, who argued that the changes made to the specification could favor one participant.
