RECOPE plans to build modern data center campus in El Alto
The Costa Rican Oil Refinery (RECOPE SA) plans to build a data center on the campus of El Alto de Ochomogo, with the latest technology and under strict international standards, which will be used as an alternative central data processing company, and will ensure the operations of the Sales and Distribution Management (GDV), while serving as an implementer and promoter of technology for process automation projects.
Before designing the project a needs assessment was carried out and then a company hired to design the new data center in conjunction with a multidisciplinary group of professionals from the administration.
In the coming weeks a tender will be issued for the construction works, for approximately $900 million colones, the construction and supply of technology will take approximately eight months.

KIO Networks has opened a data center dedicated to technology services for mission critical information.
S21.com.gt reports: "This company offers technologies and hosting services and application management, ecosystems for financial transaction and securities markets, and cloud solutions for small, medium and large companies and NGOs, among other things."
On December 5 the Costa Rican Oil Refinery will auction $50 million in bonds with a term of ten years.
Elfinancierocr.com reports that "The details of the instruments were released on November 27. The auction will be held on December 5, the gross interest rate for the instruments is 5.98%, they have a semiannual coupon, the settlement period is two days and the rating has been assigned by Fitch El Salvador and Costa Rica. "
After changing the projected refining model, which will raise the total cost to $1.391 million, consulting firm Worley Parsons has confirmed the project's profitability.
Ombudsmen from the government of Costa Rica and the Costa Rican Oil Refinery (Recope), said the report on the positive performance of the project is encouraging, but there is still a lack of evidence for determining the final decision-making to address it.
Recope bought 22 hectares of land in Guanacaste for building a new fuel terminal.
Costa Rica's state-owned oil refinery (Recope) will build a new fuel terminal in the province of Guanacaste, close to Liberia's Airport. It will be named 'Terminal Chorotega'.
"The terminal includes 2 diesel tanks for 25.000 barrels of diesel, 4 gasoline tanks for 25.000 barrels, 3 jet fuel tanks of 40.000 barrels and 2 tanks for 5.000 barrels of ethanol", reported Thecostaricanews.com.
