Recope Increases Storage Capacity

State owned Costa Rican Oil Refinery (Recope) is investing $14.4 million in a fuel storage tank.

To be used for storing light crude, the tank has a capacity of 200.000 barrels, and will be located in Moín.

Elfinanciero.cr states "...the total cost of the project is $14.448.336. Works include measurement systems, fire protection and cathodic protection".

Recope is also building 6 other tanks with lower capacity, looking to increase its capacity in 550.000 barrels. The investment for these projects is $40.543.690.

Works to Store Liquefied Petroleum Gas Awarded

The Costa Rican Oil Refinery company (Recope) has awarded the construction of four areas to store LPG and related works to the Spanish company Felguera IHI.

A press release by Recope states that:

“The company IHI Felguera SA (Spanish) will be responsible for building the four areas and their related works, on the project called System and Storage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (SAGAS in Spanish) after having been awarded the works.

The initial $43 million 12 storage tank project on the island in the Pacific has increased to 16 tanks with an investment of almost $60 million.

The project, which is 60% complete, is being developed by Burkell Holding Inc. and includes a loading pier for shipping fuel.

The fuel storage facility, capable of holding 350.000 barrels, will be located in the municipality of Ajacutla in El Salvador.

The announcement was made by Wladimir Ruiz Tirado, business manager at the Venezuelan embassy, who explained the country will enjoy cheaper and safer fuel.

Recope to Invest $28.7 Million in Costa Rica

This investment by the state-owned fuel refinery is geared to increase its fuel storage capacity in 550,000 barrels.

"Refinadora Costarricense de Petróleo S.A." (Recope), currently has an installed storage capacity of 3.4 million barrels.

Elfinancierocr.com reports: "The company is building two heavy oil storage tanks, capable of 25,000 barrels and a diesel one, capable of 100,000.
