Proposals for Balboa Shipyard Rejected

The three companies that participated in the tender called by the Panama Maritime Authority have been disqualified for "not meeting requirements."

Monday, April 2, 2012

The consortium Panamá Drydock, consortium Astillero del Pacífico (Astipac) and Talleres Dry Docks were the companies that did not meet the requirements for the award, according to an evaluation by the commission of the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP).

Accordingly, offers submitted by these companies can not be qualified and can not be assigned scores according to a resolution by the rating committee.

Talleres Dry Docks will lodge an appeal and ask that the act be awarded to them, believing that they have complied with the requirements, reported Panamaamerica.com.

The bidding process has been stopped twice by complaints from the contestants, firstly by MEC Pacific Dry Docks, and then by Talleres Dry Docks.
