Plans for Salvadoran Tourism

The new Minister of Tourism said that he will prioritize relationships with mayors and the private sector to increase investment in the sector.

Thursday, June 4, 2009

Napoleón Duarte believes that the tourism plan that has been implemented is technically well designed, but it must undergo some changes to suit the economic and financial crisis. Some projects of the previous administration will be taken up, and special priority will be given to construction of the jetty and the concession of the mountain hotel.

In an article in Laprensagráfica.com, the minister was asked the following question: "When will the stimulus program for loans to tourism MSMEs begin and how will it be done?" The minister replied: "I am already doing it. We have 198 registered companies and we will see which ones require working capital. What I do is to encourage, facilitate and provide a link to open new opportunities."
