Panamanian Government Revenue Down 20%
In January 2009, the income of the Panamanian government was $267.5 million, $67 million less than in January 2008.

According to a report in prensa.com, the drop is the result of "a decrease in regular income which was down by 20.4%," while tax revenue,"increased but suffered a sharp slowdown."
The Ministry of Economy will present the state budget for fiscal year 2012 amounting to $14,000 million.
The president of Panama has presented the budget for fiscal year 2013, which is 12.6% more than 2012’s.
The budget for next year represents an increase of 16% compared to this year.
The National Assembly has approved a budget of $16.28 billion for fiscal year 2013.
