Panama: possible sanctions for cabotage services

Honduran haulage contractors have announced a blockade of goods coming from Nicaragua at the end of the month.
The domestic market in Panama grew in 2008 by 5%, and is estimated to continue growing in 2009, despite the crisis.
Land freight transport is booming, having grown by 9% in 2011 and contributing 11.5% to GDP.
A feasibility study has been started on a freight system between the Pacific ports of the region using shallow draft boats.
