Panama is Costa Rica's most important trading partner

Panama is increasing its trade with Costa Rica, and its imports from Costa Rica rose by 34 percent just in the last six months.

Panam has become Costa Rica's most important trading partner in Central America. Trade between the two nations ruse to 210 million dollars between January and June of this year, according to Costa Rica's Ministry of Foreign Trade.
In the past, Costa Rica's main trading partners were Nicaragua and Guatemala.

Dairy Products From Uruguay Allowed to Enter Panama

Panamanian food authorities have given permission for six facilities to export Uruguayan dairy to that market.

On Wednesday May 22 this year, both the General Director of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries of Uruguay (MGAP) Alberto Castelar, and the Director of the International Affairs Unit Alejandro Mernies of the same ministry announced a new breakthrough in international integration as part of the Government's strategic guidelines in market diversification.This news was that Panamanian food safety authorities have given permission for six facilities to export Uruguayan bovine dairy products to that market.

Costa Rica's Exports to Panama Up 66%

Between 2006 and 2010 exports from Costa Rica to Panama increased from $267 million to $443 million.

The figure makes Panama the fourth largest importer of Costa Rican products in the world and the first in Central America, followed by Guatemala and Nicaragua. In the same period, exports to these two countries increased by 15% and 35% respectively.

China displays products in Costa Rica

A total of 28 Chinese companies will put their products on display in Costa Rica from September 11-14.

Meanwhile, some 300 government officials and business leaders from Central America will take part in a forum along with Chinese representatives, organizers of the event reported on Monday.
