Panama continues to have vigorous construction growth
The sector is one of the main pillar of the country's economic surge, and signs show that, despite the crisis, the growth rate will be maintained through 2009.

An analysis by the PA-DIGITAL web page indicates that "the construction sector continued to grow in 2008, recording an increase of 52% from January to August, compared to the same period in 2007.
Although during the first six months of 2013 building permits decreased by 18% compared to 2012, residential investment grew by 27%.
Along with construction of a cruise terminal, there are also housing projects.
In the past two years, the value of constructions in the district of Arraijan, in the central-western part of the Province of Panama, rose to $200 million.
Chinese investors have announced the possibility of opening of an office for the study of infrastructure development projects in the country.
