Panama: $ 147 Million in Roadwork Begin

Construction work began on rehabilitation projects at Soná Boulevard as wells as design and construction of roads and bridges in Veraguas.

The order to proceed was given by the Ministry of Works to companies Bagatrac SA and Conalvías, SA.

Construction work on the Sona Boulevard will be implemented by Bagatrac at a cost of $ 8.2 million in an area of 2.48 km. They will start at the bridge over the Tribique river and end at the junction with Rodeo Viejo.

In the second project with notice to proceed with construction are roads and bridges in Veraguas by Conalvías, SA, amounting to $ 139.7 million, rehabilitating streets and production roads, repairing and maintaining 13 highway bridges between Sona and San Lorenzo.

Panama: 19 Companies Interested in Road Tender

Ten construction companies and nine service companies attended the pre tender meeting for establishing the specifications for the expansion to four lanes of the Inter American Highway from Veraguas to Viguí.

Prensa.com reports: "This is the first of five sections that the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) is putting out to tender in order to complete the widening to four lanes of the highway between David and Santiago".

Panama: Offers Received for Soná Boulevard Construction

Two companies have submitted bids to widen the Soná Boulevard to four lanes in the Veraguas province of western Panama.

The companies participating in the $9.1 million tender were Constructora Urbana, S.A. (CUSA), whose offer was $8.7 million, and Bagatrac, S.A. with and $8.2 million offer.
