Seeds will be supplied by the Latin American and Caribbean Consortium for Yucca R&D (Clayuca).
Six years after having started the program to incorporate it into the energy matrix, the percentage of ethanol in gasoline has fallen by 4.6% in 2006 to 1.4 in 2011.
The Biofuels Act provides that from April 2013 2% anhydrous ethanol will be incorporated into vehicle fuel.
The sugar industry has asked the government for transparent policies in order to promote investment in bio-fuel production.
The company presented the Industry Ministry a project for building an ethanol plant.
