Panama: Two Hydroelectric Projects Awarded
With a $290 million investment Electron Investment S.A. (EISA), will build projects Monte Lirio and Pando in Chiriqui.

Italian company SELI Tecnologie will be responsible for the construction of the tunnel boring machines, excavation and monitoring.
Authorization has been given to Hydroelectric Esmeralda SA to build and operate for 50 years a hydroelectric plant with an installed capacity of 18 MW, in the department of Alta Verapaz.
The renegotiation of the terms of the contract between the state run Panamanian electricity company and the construction company Odebrecht has delayed completion of the document, which it is estimated will be ready in the coming weeks.
The National Authority of Public Services has authorized Darrin Business SA, to construct and operate a run-of-river hydroelectric station in the Chiriqui province.
GDF Suez and Enel Green Power did not submit bids and in the end the 50 year concession of Changuinola II went to the only remaining contestant, Oderbrecht Energy.
