The Directorate General of Revenue has announced that it will publish, in the course of this month details of, "... taxpayers who have had outstanding accounts with the institution for more than a year." This measure is a result of low tax revenues being reported since late 2014.

The head of Internal Revenue, Publio Cortés, told Prensa.com that "... In this way they avoid the passing the term for the statue of limitations for these cases, since publications constitute a collection management measure that interrupt the statute of limitations for taxes, which varies depending on the case. "

He added that "... This measure has already been implemented by the institution on occasions in the past and this list will contain a list of all delinquent taxpayers, regardless of the balance owed by them."
