Panama Invites Bids for Supplying $7 Million in Medical Equipment

The Ministry of Health invited companies to bid for the purchase of medical equipment for the Santo Tomas Hospital and the Children's Hospital.

The purchase is part of the plan to upgrade the hospital´s technology, and includes refurbishment, adaptation and installation of new equipment for the two hospitals. Santo Tomás Hospital is the main trauma center in the country.

Companies must submit their bids on February 11.

On September 16th, bids will be received for providing non intrusive X-Ray container inspection services at ports.

So far, ten companies have expressed interest in providing the service. 7 have applied for Port Quetzal while the other 3 have done it for Santo Tomás Port.

Five companies have submitted bids for inspecting containers at Port Quetzal.

They are "Prosersa", "Sertec", "Port Security Inter (PSI)", "S2 Global Screening Solutions" and "Desarrollos Circe".

"... the board decided to reject the offers by PSI, S2 Global and Desarrollos Circe, while admitting Prosersa and Sertec, whom bid $17.85 and $20.85 per container, respectively", reported Elperiodico.com.gt.
