IDAAN has published the bid documents for the contract, which includes the design and construction of a 4km pipeline in La Chorrera, just west of the Panamanian capital.
The $7.87 million project comprises transportation and distribution of drinkable water using tank trunks.
Lack of water is stopping productive development, and at the same time the very same disorderly development is causing shortages in several areas of the country.
An agreement has been made to transfer resources to the Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage Systems in order to carry out water treatment works, buy equipment and renovate wells.
The Panamanian Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers has issued a tender for the transportation and supply of water by tankers.
