"They negotiate with the artists, I'm not going to inflate my budget," were the words of the manager of the Panama Tourism Authority, Solomon Shamah, referring to the $ 140,000 which is earmarked for direct payment of artists performing at the city´s carnival."

According to Xenia De León in her article at Pa-digital.com.pa, "the administrator of the ATP, Solomon Shamah, said the artists will be contracted directly if they decide to go to the Authority, however, they can also be hired through Panama Music or Factory Corp."

The budget destined for the carnival is $ 1.5 million.
