The project aims to connect Colombia to Panama, effectively linking the electric market of the Andean Community with its Central American equivalent.

From Nacion.com: “Dennis Moreno, head of the Panamanian Public Services authority (ASEP), remarked that they have reached a “breaking point” in terms of regulation harmonization. This must be shared with the other Central American nations, before the funding and economic auctions begin. ‘We want this process to be transparent and respectful of environmental regulations’, he added”.
