The airport, which required an investment of $58 million, does not operate commercial flights, therefore Tocumen SA is analyzing different alternatives to find another use for the terminal so that it can start generating profits. One option is to use the facilities to host an aviation school.

The manager of regional airports at Tocumen SA, Abelardo Sucre, recently warned that the airport "is not a thriving business" and that it "does not generate profits. '" He also said that two companies are interested in developing aeronautical workshops, which would be one of the options the company has for activating the terminal.
