Panama Among the Three Best Places to Retire To

The American publication International Living has placed Panama, along with Ecuador and Mexico, as the most interesting destinations in its 2012 index.

These three countries were selected for their low cost of living and warmer climate (among other things) and are followed by Malaysia, Colombia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Spain, Thailand and Honduras.

According to an article in the online newspaper La Prensa, "The idea is that you can live for less without sacrificing anything, since you can live on half or less, than what it costs to live in the U.S. or Canada," said Dan Prescher, special projects editor of International Living. "Meanwhile, the deteriorating global economic situation is becoming increasingly important," he said in the interview."
