Panama: $ 300 million Ocean Reef Islands Project

With the presence of President Ricardo Martinelli the Ocean Reef Islands project was launched.

Ingenieros Civiles Asociados (ICA), contractor and builder Grupo Los Pueblos developer of Punta Pacific Islands, will invest approximately $ 300 million.

Martinelli considered this project visionary as the investment is purely Panamanian capital (approximately $ 300 million) and allows to project confidence to other investors, domestic and foreign, to continue to position Panama as a nation with first world infrastructure.

Filling of Artificial Panamanian Islands Begins

Two artificial islands will be located between the grounds of the former Marcos A. Gelabert Airport and the ATLAPA Convention Center.

ICA to build artificial islands in Panama

ICA Panamá, the local unit of Mexico's leading constructor ICA, is planning the US$140 million development of two artificial islands off Punta Pacífica.

The project will require 4 million cubic meters of infill, equivalent to two of the Egyptian pyramids, said Diego Hernández, chief executive of ICA Panamá.
