Panama: Sanitation Requirements for Food

As of April 26, importers of food and raw materials and food additives must comply with new requirements which includes having a sanitation registration.

From a statement issued by the Panamanian Food Safety Authority:

Dozens of importers attended a training session that was run by the Panamanian Authority for Food Safety (AUPSA), to publicize the new hygiene requirements for the introduction of raw materials and food additives used for the production of food for human consumption as well as processed foods and packaged foods for direct consumption.

Through the resolutions AUPSA-DINAN 001-2016 and AUPSA DINAN 002-2016 , the Resolution AUPSA-DINAN 002-2012 has been revoked, in which the health requirements for the introduction of these foods is established, and this was published on Jan. 5 in the official newspaper La Gaceta No. 27,958A.
