The Administrative Unit of Reverted Property (Uabr) reported that the study of the master plan updated by the firm Tourism, Business & Planning (C4T), recommends the installation of six platforms that will house recreational areas, which would be built on piles overlooking the entrance to the Panama Canal.  "... They would be a kind of piers or platforms on piles, where various businesses would be operating. "

Luis Felipe Icaza, executive secretary of the UABR, told Prensa.com that " ... the government will build two of the six platforms that can be developed. They would be a kind of piers or platforms on stilts, where various businesses would be operating. 'We do not want to launch the entire supply onto the market, as we have to measure the appetite of investors'."

"... The signature C4T indicates that the platforms would have sight of the entrance of the Panama Canal. It suggests that they be used to host sports tracks, small amphitheatres, fountains or water mirrors, areas with pergolas and shaded areas to make the road brighter."

The growth experienced in the area has led to the Unit of Reverted Properties to postpone the sale of lots in Amador and Sherman in order to update development plans anticipated in that area.

It's not just the projected fourth bridge over the canal and the convention center being built in Amador, but also the future Metro Line 3, which connects the east of the city with the districts of Arraijan, Capira, Chame, La Chorrera and San Carlos.

The Panamanian government will announce in the coming weeks a tender for several tourist developments in the area.

The executive secretary of the Management Unit for Reverted Property (UABR in Spanish), Juan Carlos Orillac said they have already completed a development plan for the area prepared by the Spanish consulting firm C4T .

Panama Tenders Consultancy for Amador Development

March 2011

On March 21st a consultancy will be contracted to update the Comprehensive Development Plan 2011-2026 for Amador.

Tasks include consultation and an inventory of infrastructure built in this area.

It also contemplates the creation of a proposal to organize space in Amador, according to the state's investment interests, geared towards tourism and resident well-being, among others.
