Only one company presented offer for Liberia airport

American company Houston Airport was the only one of 13 companies originally interested in building and operating the new airport in Liberia, Guanacaste, to make an offer.

Friday, August 8, 2008

This is the same firm that is interested in completing the construction of the Juan Santamaria airport in Alajuela.
Karla Gonzalez, Minister of Transport, confirmed that only Houston Airport System Development Company (HASDC) presented a technical and financial offer to operate the Daniel Oduber Quiros airport, even though 13 companies bought the tender.
The new passenger terminal is urgently needed as the current structure cannot adequately handle the amount of visitors.
