By the middle of the year, the company Fersa is planning to start the construction of the Toabré Wind Farm, located in the Cocle Province.

Tagnia Shocrón wrote in an article on Laestrella.com.pa: "A multinational under the name Enrilews, SA, is involved.
The Toabré Wind Farm will generate up to 225 megawatts (MW) when work is completed, supplying 9% of local demand. This is not the first occasion that Enrilews has requested a license to build the wind farm. According to a listing with the Public Services Authority (ASEP by its initials in Spanish) the company had a license canceled for a wind farm in La Pintada, Coclé, which would have generated 400 MW.

Extension to the 110 MW Wind Project

In Panama, an extension has been granted to the definitive license for the company Parque Eólico Toabré, to build a wind power generation plant with an installed capacity of 110 MW.

In the original project, to which the ASEP granted a definitive installation and exploitation license in 2008, the planned installed capacity was 225 MW, but the company requested at the end of 2017 to reduce it to 110 MW.

The company FERSA SA has been authorized to delay construction and postpone until January 2018 the beggining of operations of its 225 MW wind farm in the district of Penonomé in Cocle.

Globeleq Acquires Wind Farm in Nicaragua

Globeleq Generation Limited (Globeleq), an energy company, announced the acquisition of a 100% stake in the project Eolo de Nicaragua S.A. which aims to generate 44 MW.

Eolo is in the province of Rivas on the shore of Lake Nicaragua, about 125 kilometers south of the capital, Managua.

$ 209 Million for Cerro de Hula Wind Project

November 2010

The BCIE and the EX-IM Bank signed a loan in favor of Energía Eólica de Honduras.

The resources will be invested in the Cerro de Hula Wind Project, which will generate 102 MW and is located in the Department of Francisco Morazan, Honduras.

The project developer will be EEHSA, a subsidiary of Mesoamerica, SA (ERM).
