Nicaraguan business have been doing an analysis of their individual industrial capacity, to determine the volume that they will be sending to the South American country, said Alfredo Velez, President of Anapa.
The businessman also added that in light of the fact that the poultry sector in the country has been in decline since 2004 due to the reduce buying power of consumers, the industry now has the capacity to produce more and to export.

Conditions have been satisfied to enable the export of 12,000 tons of chicken to Venezuela.

The country is negotiating to ship up to 12.000 tons of chicken meat per year.

Donald Tuckler, executive secretary of Anapa, the Nicaraguan Poultry Association, explained that Nicaraguan chicken farms have been already certified with international standards.

Tuckler also told Elnuevodiario.com.ni: “we might visit Venezuela to close the deal and start shipping in the upcoming days”.
