Nicaraguan exports dropped in January
There was a reduction of more than $36 million in foreign sales in January 2009, in comparison to the same month last year.

Gustavo Alvarez says in an article on EL NUEVO DIARIO.com: "The growth rate for exports, which in the last few years had a sustained growth of around 20%, started the year with a 27.9% drop. In January 2008, exports totaled 133.9 million dollars, however this January they totaled 97.4%, according to Cetrex.
Exports totaled $7.676 billion in the first quarter of 2013, a decrease of 3.3% compared to exports in the same period last year.
During the first five months of 2013 $1.1067 billion worth of goods were sold abroad, while in the same period in 2012 export revenues were $1.1852 billion.
The country sold $3.219 in the first 10 months of 2009, down from $3.907 million in the same period of 2009.
Foreign sales were down by 17.8% in volume and 10.4% in value in February.
