Nicaragua: Road Maintenance Works Being Prepared

The Mayor of Managua plans to invest about $10 million in maintenance, cleaning of riverbeds and drainage projects before the rainy season begins.

The 2017 Winter Plan, presented by the Mayor of Managua, includes works such as cleaning river beds, construction of new works, maintenance of streets and drainage projects. 

Fidel Moreno, general secretary of the municipality, told Elnuevodiario.com.ni that "... $1.7 million will be invested in maintenance and about $7.5 million in drainage projects."

"... He added that cleaning works are 80 percent complete and are expected to be finished in the first week of May. This year it is projected that 93 cubic meters of solid waste will be extracted."

Road Works: Approval to Execute $144 Million

October 2018

The government of Costa Rica has authorized the execution of resources for the road renovation of 270 km of roads and drainage systems starting in the first half of 2019.

The Ministry of National Planning and Economic Policy (Mideplan) approved the execution of the second stage of the Cantonal Road Infrastructure Program (PRVC II), which should be implemented in five years through 110 projects that will improve 270.8 km of cantonal roads and drainage systems.

Nicaragua: Repairs to Estelí Streets

The city’s streets will be once again resurfaced, after bad weather affected works undertaken at the beginning of the year.

The government will invest close to a million dollars in the repair of streets in Esteli city, which will be repaved for the second time this year.
