Nicaragua Exports up 34.17%

Nicaragua's exports for the first eight months of 2008 were 34.17% higher than last year.

This is explained by the well reception of coffee, lobster, fish, sheep meat, raw gold and other products in the international market, an government source informed.
The government's Centro de Trámites de Exportaciones stated that exports from January to August 2008 were valued at $1.146 million.

The total value of exports for November was $2.524 billion, 18.71% higher than in the same period of 2011.

According to the Center for Export Procedures (Cetrex), if the rate of growth is maintained, foreign sales at the end of this year could exceed $2.7 billion.

Twenty products accounted for 87.9% of the $2.524 billion in exports, which included coffee, sugar cane, beef, shrimp farming, raw gold and peanuts.

Exports from Nicaragua have increased by 30.5 percent during the first half of 2008, compared with the same period a year earlier.

The January-June exports totalled 835.3 million dollars, up from 640.6 million dollars in the first half of 2007, according to a report issued by the Center for Processing Exports (CETREX) in its preliminary monthly report.
