Nicaragua Abandons Negotiations with Europe
The cause was the rejection of the Nicaraguan demand for 60 billion Euros in cooperation for the region by European negotiators.

While the news has not been officially confirmed, the Nicaraguan negotiators have already withdrawn from the Intercontinental Hotel, the venue of the talks. How the process will continue is also not known since Europe has insisted from the outset on the need to negotiate as a bloc.
Following the announcement by the Europeans of their willingness to "listen carefully" to its requests, Nicaragua is going back to the Partnership Agreement process.
The problematic attempts by the European Union to reach trade agreements with Mercosur and CAN are bad precedents.
The European Commission regretted Nicaragua's withdrawal during the seventh round of negotiations for the Association Agreement and announced that it will evaluate the situation.
The Nicaraguan Vice Chancellor indicated that the country will listen to new proposals for the regional fund in the meeting in Brussels.
