Nicaragua: $21 Million to Build Hospital

The Ortega administration has announced that a donation from the Dutch government will finance part of the construction and equipment of a new hospital in the North Caribbean.

Representatives from the Nicaraguan government explained that the donation is €18.7 million, approximately $21 million. 

Elnuevodiario.com.ni reports that "...Rosario Murillo, through official media, explained that "... that donation will be added to a loan of $53 million granted by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) to finance construction of this new hospital in the North Caribbean. Execution of this project is planned to be carried out in three years, according to the loan contract."

The new infrastructure will be built as a replacement for the 'Nuevo Amanecer Regional Hospital' located in the municipality of Bilwi or Puerto Cabezas.

The Japanese International Cooperation Agency will provide the funds to build a public hospital in Nueva Guinea this year, so that it will be operational in early 2019.

Panama to Build New Hospital in Las Cumbres

The Government will invest $19.8 million to build an 80-bed hospital.

The new hospital will benefit 177.769 inhabitants of the villages of Chilibre, Las Cumbres, Alcaldedìaz and Ernesto Campos Cordoba.

The project involves construction of an 80-bed second-tier care hospital. The launch is scheduled for 2011 with completion estimated for 2012.

Nicaragua: $62.4 Million to be Invested in Hospital

Part of the investment will be made with a $50 million loan from the BCIE, and the remaining funds will be supplied by the Nicaraguan government.

The new military hospital school, "Dr. Alejandro Dávila Bolaños," will be built on a site measuring 72,336 square meters, where the El Retiro Hospital was previously located. The El Retiro Hospital was a medical center that was destroyed by an earthquake on December 23, 1972.
