New ecological hotel in El Salvador

Rancho Estero y Mar is the new beach hotel located in La Paz. The investment runs around 2 million dollars.

Operations are based on an ecological beach concept, as it combines the benefits of the natural resources in the area, including the lagoon.

The business, which started out with four rooms, now has 33 and has a capacity for a maximum of 130 people.

Decameron Comes to Costa Rica

The Colombian hotel chain has announced its entry into the Costa Rican market with the opening of two hotels.

According to a publication in the Colombian newspaper, El Tiempo, the openings will be in the first half of this year in San Jose and Jaco.

Ximena Gomez, sales manager of the chain, without disclosing the amount of investment, said that the establishments will be called Royal Decameron Irazu (330 rooms) and Decameron Jacó Beach (130 rooms).

The 36 room Hotel Los Portales, required an investment of $3.2 million.

The new colonial style hotel is a family business run by Teodoro Picado and his wife Maria Torres de Picado, who spent $3.2 million on it. It has two floors with 3,400 m2 and a capacity of 100 people in 36 rooms.

Hard Rock Hotel Panama to be built

Hard Rock Hotel Panama, a four-star condo-hotel development with 499 rooms, has received approval to start construction. It is expected to open in 2010.

The resort will integrate contemporary architecture and leading-edge amenities that include rooms accesible to the pool, a spa, and other conveniences.
