New Regional Flights for Belize Airline

Starting July 8, Maya Island Air offers daily flights between Belize, San Pedro Sula, Guatemala City and Cancun.

Maya Island Air will operate a daily flight for the Guatemala-Belize-Cancun and Guatemala-Belize-San Pedro Sula routes. To serve these destinations, the company purchased two aircraft with capacity for 72 passengers each.

According to the San Pedro Sun, Maya Island Air CEO Louis Zabaneh stated: "We are targeting more than 14 million tourists that visit these three destinations. We see the potential of this market, as there is great demand for traveling inside this area".

More Flights between Guatemala and Mexico

Aeromexico has announced it is increasing the number of frequencies it operates daily between the capitals of both countries.

With this fourth flight the airline will increase the weekly flights it operates between the two cities to 20.

Fernando Del Cid, commercial manager of the company, said in an article of that "... "With this fourth flight we are able to offer customers more choice of connections.'"

Direct Flight San Pedro Sula - Panama

Copa Airlines has launched direct flights between San Pedro Sula and the capital of Panama, with connections to Colombia.

According to Elisa Brenes, regional manager for Central America for Copa, said: "This new route will open the doors for national tourism and will provide an opportunity to attract business to Honduras, further supporting trade and tourism in the region.

New Flights Cancun – Peten Announced

The company Transportes Aereos de Guatemala (TAG) announced that it aims to promote the country as a destination and increase tourism by 17%.

The general manager of TAG, Jonathan Layton, said the airline will offer air packages from Cancun to Flores, Petén and therefore increase tourism by 17% in Guatemala.

Aeromexico Launches Daily Frequencies in Guatemala

Starting on July 4, the company will offer a daily flight between the capitals of both countries.

The direct flight between the cities of Mexico and Guatemala is part of an international expansion plan announced by the company this year.

The flight equipment will be the latest generation of Boeing 737’s and scheduled for convenient times to allow passengers to connect to the network of national and international destinations via the airline Eagle Knight.
