New Panama - Bolivia Flight with Copa

The Bolivian government authorized Copa Airlines to operate the route between Panama City and Santa Cruz with a frequency of four flights per week.

The website published, "Copa Airlines, which will have its headquarters in Santa Cruz, will operate the route with Boeing 737-700 aircraft that have a capacity for 124 passengers. In accordance with its business plan, the company expects to transport a total of 30,463 passengers in the first 12 months of operations, said as the EFE news agency."

Copa Airlines Announces Four New Destinations

January 2012

Copa Airlines will operate 4 new destinations starting from June. The destinations are: Recife, Brazil; Guanacaste, Costa Rica; Las Vegas, USA; and the island of Curacao.

A press release from Copa Airlines states that “Passengers departing from or transiting through the Hub of the Americas, the hub of Copa Airlines, Tocumen International Airport in Panama, via these new flights will have access to a network which consists of a total of 63 destinations in 29 countries throughout North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Copa Announces New Flight to Chicago

As of December 15, 2011, Copa Airlines will operate a new nonstop service between Chicago and Panama.

Chicago will then become the sixth Copa Airlines destination in the United States. The airline announced the new service at a press conference held in New York to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its listing on the New York Stock Exchange and to announce its expansion plans.

COPA announces new destinations

August 2008

Starting December, Copa Airlines will fly to Valencia in Venezuela, Oranjestad in Aruba and Santa Cruz in Bolivia.

Along with previously announced destinations of Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago, and Belo Horizonte in Brazil, the airline will end the year with five new destinations in its network.

The executive president of Copa Airlines, Pedro Heilbron, said to the press that of the new destinations this will be their "first flight to Santa Cruz, Bolivia," on December 15 and it will be a direct connection between South and Central America.
