New Bancrédito Agencies in Costa Rica

Aiming to offer more services to SMEs, "Banco de Crédito Agrícola de Cartago" will open 4 new agencies in rural areas.

On July 29th, they will open an agency in Guápiles, Pococí, on August 5th in Pérez Zeledón, on August 12th in Liberia, Guanacaste, and finally, an agency will open in Ciudad Quesada in November.

Costa Rican Credit for SMEs

January 2011

State banks will allocate $670 million through different programs aimed at Small and Medium Enterprises.

According to a survey conducted by La Nacion with State owned financial institutions, the sectors most favored will be service and trade.

"For 2011 Banco Nacional has a budget of $375 million to lend to MSMEs, Banco Popular has $243 million, BCR $30 million and Bancrédito $22 million, respectively."

Costa Rica: $3.4 Million for Micro-companies

"Microfinanzas", a micro-finance project from the Development Banking System, would provide financing for 4.000 companies.

Loans will have 10 a year term, a maximum of $8.500, and interest rates of 20%.

"The money originates from Finade, a state development trust, and will be administered by bank 'Bancredito'.

Costa Rica Development Banking System will finance SMEs productive projects in up to $110.000.

Small and medium businesses with viable projects will be able to request financing from state owned banks "Banco Nacional", "Banco de Costa Rica", "Banco Popular" and "Banco Nacional de Costa Rica".

Bancredito teams up with BBVA for micro credit in Costa Rica

Bancredito signed a deal with the BBVA Foundation to offer microcredit in Costa Rica

The agreement will allow Bancredit to take advantage of the BBVA Foundation's experience in the development and implemenation of financial products and services for small companies.

The Microfinance fundation, BBVA, is an entity created by the BBVA Group in accordance with its strategy of corperate responsibility.
