The Guatemalan fast food chain opened its third restaurant in Barcelona, Spain.
The opening is part of the agreement with Eat Out group.
Juan José Gutiérrez, Pollo Campero's chief executive, announced the plan of the chain's international expansion with new openings in Brighton (UK), Milan (Italy), New Delhi (India) scheduled for November and December.
The Al Macarone chain has opened four new restaurants and expects to add another 13 by the end of the year.
Since beginning operations in 1977 the chain has inaugurated 62 restaurants, of which 11 operate as a franchise.
"We expect to have a total of 75 establishments by the end of 2010 and also start investing in the rest of the Central American isthmus using the franchise model," explained Francisco Farjardo, Al Macarone's head of franchise operations, to Elperiodico.com.gt.
In the first six months of the year, four fast food franchises have opened six new restaurants.
With an investment of $3.5 million, the firm QSR (Quick Service Restaurant), owner of the franchises KFC, Quiznos, and Teriyaki, opened three locations in Santa Ana. Arcos Dorados, the owner of the McDonald’s franchise, opened three locations in San Ramon, Grecia, and Liberia.
